PD SOP
The operating framework for the BronxRP Police Department - from academy intake to scene command. Read it, live it, because every badge answers to it.
Academy & Ranks
-
Academy Required
All officers must complete the 4-session academy before active duty. No exceptions, no fast-tracking.
-
Rank Structure
Cadet → Officer → Senior Officer → Corporal → Sergeant → Lieutenant → Captain → Commissioner.
-
Promotions
Based on hours, conduct, and training metrics. No friend promotions - all moves signed off by two senior ranks.
-
Dual Faction Prohibition
Active PD officers may not also be active members of a whitelisted criminal faction. Periods of leave required for transfers.
Patrol & Response
-
Always In Uniform
While clocked on, officers remain in department uniform unless explicitly authorized for a UC assignment.
-
Minimum Patrol
Single-officer patrols only responding to priority 3+ calls. Priority 1 & 2 require 2+ officers or mutual aid.
-
Radio Discipline
Traffic is structured: callsign, location, nature. No chatter on tactical channels.
-
Response To Crims
PD ratio during scenes is one more than the criminal count (3 crims → 4 officers max) at scene start.
Use of Force
-
Force Escalation
Verbal → hands → taser → less-lethal → lethal. Each step must be justifiable on bodycam.
-
Taser First
Where practical, taser is deployed before sidearm. Exceptions for visible lethal threat.
-
Deadly Force
Only against clear, present, lethal threat to officer or public. Every discharge requires a written report within the same shift.
-
Less-Lethal Class
Rubber shotgun rounds and bean bags issued by scene commander only during active scenes.
Pursuits
-
Pursuit Authorization
Pursuits above 120km/h in the city must be authorized by a Sergeant or above. Reckless disregard = end pursuit.
-
PIT Maneuver
Only on straight roads, below 90km/h, and when failure to stop creates greater risk than the crash.
-
Air Support
Air unit is requested, not assumed. One air unit per scene.
-
Pursuit Termination
Lost visual + no air + civilian risk = call it off. We catch them tomorrow.
Evidence & Custody
-
Bodycam Is Sacred
Every arrest requires bodycam rolling from stop through custody. Missing footage = case dismissed.
-
Chain of Custody
Evidence tagged in MDT within 10 minutes of seizure. Hand-offs logged by badge number.
-
EMS Consult First
PD must allow EMS to ask detained patients how they are feeling BEFORE processing begins.
-
Mirandas
Read rights at arrest, not after. No rights = confession inadmissible.
-
Interrogation
Two officers present minimum. No duress tactics. Recorded in the interview room with IT running.
Scene Management
-
Scene Commander
Highest rank on scene is commander unless they defer. Scene commander owns radio comms.
-
Perimeter First
Establish perimeter before engaging. No officer charges alone into a known armed scene.
-
Hostage Protocol
Negotiators take lead on any hostage scene. Tactical posture only on negotiator authority.
-
Scene Clear Callout
Only Scene Commander gives the "scene clear" to dispatch EMS.
Conduct & Integrity
-
No Corruption Without Plot
Corrupt officer RP is allowed but requires Command approval and a documented storyline.
-
Off-Duty Conduct
Off-duty officers who witness crime should call it in, not badge into it.
-
Internal Affairs
IA investigates all complaints. Cooperate fully. Obstructing IA is a terminable offense.
-
OOC Boundaries
PD staff seats are OOC privileged. Never use admin tools to advantage your officer character.
